July,2009
A Note from President Rick:
Dear Sub-West,
I am honored and humbled to take the helm of the
club, and I thank you for having confidence in
me. I also want to thank Bill Cleary for handing
over the club in excellent shape. He and his
board did a great job. My big agenda item for
this year is to get Rotarians engaged (or reengaged).
This year’s theme from RI is, “The
Future of Rotary is in Your Hands.” Rotary’s
mission gets done at the club level by active
Rotarians. Sub-West has made great
accomplishments in its history, and I want that
to continue this year with even more club members
being involved. We should be proud to wear the
Rotary Wheel, and I will be encouraging Sub-
Westers to display their pride. Thank you for
sending Suki and me to the International
Convention. We were amazed and awed by what we
experienced. You allowed us to see the big
picture of what Rotary is on a global basis, and
we have been changed. Rotary has become an even
bigger part of our lives, and we look forward to
serving this year.
In Rotary,
Rick Lambert

Good news:
Al Swann’s new daughter-in-law, Beverly Zimmern, is
the new mayor of Gulf Breeze.
Rick & Suki Lambert have become Level II Bequest
Society members. Ask Betty Wasson how you can, too.
Keep in Your Thoughts:
Bob and Virginia Bothfeld who are both battling
cancer.
From the editor:
It is our hope to use this newsletter to inform,
educate, and amuse. We will use a portion to notify
others of our fellow Rotarians who are ill, have
family members deployed, or need our thoughts and
prayers for whatever purpose. We will also share
birthdays, anniversaries, job changes, or any other
news you wish to pass on, space permitting.
It will only work with your help. Please notify me of
anything you would like to see included, and please
update your data page on the district website. We
don’t have everybody’s birth date nor anybody’s wedding
anniversary, so understand if we miss you.
